It's All Coming Together
During the quiet period of the summer,
I am working hard on building
membership since 30 plus of those
people who committed have not yet
followed up with payment. To do this
I need to continue providing content
on the public pages to try and entice
new subscribers.
As we move into the latter part
of 2008 and the various seasons
beckon, I can assure all members
that you will get more and more exclusive
content in lieu of your £2.50 per month payment.
In most instances it will be similar to the Sulli & Bridgey podcast where I will give everyone a flavour of the material on the public page but only the full podcasts will be in here - for you, the members.
In terms of content, I am focusing on providing exclusive content and above anything else, originality.
If you want to read articles on the BBL, from FIBA, the NBA or anywhere else then I guess most people will do the sensible thing and just go straight to those sites directly - or, use other Britball sites that have articles of that nature.
I dont want to bother wasting time and resources (particularly during the busy September - May period) doing this.
While updates may be less frequent, hopefully originality and exclusive content will make up for this. I just cant justify putting up loads of updates if all they are in substance is just re-hashed press releases or a few bland interviews.
I will be doing tons of podcasts, radio interviews and am currently organising the feasibility of a British basktball phone-in show. I know I have been mentioning this for a while now but the logistics are close to beingg resolved.
In terms of blogs, I am still in need of people to contribute as several people have promised and look forward to getting some stuff. Interestingly I am keen for alternative blogs that you cant find anywhere else.
For example, we have lots of fans following Spanish teams from afar, just like some people follow NBA teams. The difference being that I dont want to read someones blog about an NBA team as there are literally thousands of them elsewhere on the net - and from people who actually go to the games.
At this moment, I cant find many, if any, blogs from English speaking fans on the ACB for instance.
Also I think that we all like the fans in this country writing about their experiences - that is what badaball needs to be all about.
We are part-timers but we still get the top people for you, from GB stars, BBL chairman and even footage from tournaments abroad.
That will only get even better as time goes by.
I am very positive about the message forums that are really looking good now and it has been great fun in the first month so if you havent registered, make sure you do so!
Finally, thanks for your support, but in order to prevent the site closing, and payments being refunded, please try to persuade at least one fellow baskrtball fan to subscribe!
Cheers
Bada
Please can all members try to keep exclusive content as exclusive. I hope members can see the logic in not and not saving and re-distributing exclusive content to people who have not subscribed to the site.
This will encourage more people to join and hopefully drive down subs costs in future years. On a similar note I will be monitoring usage of passwords via IP addresses and I dont expect people to share their log-in details around fans for the same reasons. Thanks for your fantastic support!
